11 - Businessman that I Salute for Life.

A Great day for all readers! Today I will elaborate 4 Filipino businessman that are successful in terms of obviously, business. This individuals started in a small dream then after that, they did what they could to be successful and all their hard work has been predicted to be a fruitful result. I admire them because they all started from a low status, but look at them now, gentlemen wearing a suit. I salute them because even though they attained such goal, they have never forgotten where they came from and they still look back from the beginning and realizing what they've accomplish in life. 


Let us now know their names one-by-one starting from "Mr. Manuel V. Pangilinan". He was born on July 14,1946 in Manila, also known as MVP and a Filipino with a passion for business. He is the Chairman of the Philippine Long Distance Telephone Company from 1998 until the present. He is also the Chairman of TV5, Philex Mining, and the Metro Pacific Investments Corporation(MPIC). He graduated as Cum Laude at Ateneo de Manila University with a degree of Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics. In December 2012, he created a project for free access of communication service, electricity, and water supply from his company to be able to help the people of his province that was struck by the typhoon Pablo. After a year, he also participated in the relief in saving and helping the people that strucked by typhoon Yolanda. Next is "Mr. Lucio Tan", he was born on July 17, 1934 in Amoy, Fujian in China and lived here in the Philippines during his childhood. He graduated in a degree of BS in Chemical Engineering from Far Eastern University in Manila. Forbes Magazine had reported that he was a janitor in a factory of Tobacco and this is where he gets his expenses in his college, and later on preached the name Lucio Tan as the 2nd richest man in the Philippines. Tan is the owner of Asia Brewery, the 2nd largest factory that manufactures liquor in the Philippines and the Tanduay Holdings, one of the largest manufacturer of rum, and the Fortune Tobacco. In the year 1985, he bought the Central Park Hotel and created the Tan Yan Kee Foundation in 1986 to honor the Tan Family Patriarch. Third is "Mr. Bernie H. Liu". In 2000, he received an award entitled Agora Award because he became famous in the field of business from the Philippine Marketing Association and on 2001, he became one of the outstanding male in the Philippines. He also received the Entrepreneurship of the Year award from the Grand Chamber Awards of the Cebu Chamber of Commerce. He chose architect as his profession and a businessman with a heart and passion in reaching his dreams in life. In 1986, he created a store that is well-known as of today and I'm talking about Penshoppe. This store was first managed by his parents and later on grew and grew until it scattered all over the Philippines. Last is "Mr. Henry Sy". He was born on December 25, 1924 and businessman that loves retailing, interacting with other people, accountancy, and education in the field of medicine. The SM Malls, Shoemart Department Store, and Supermarkets are all the fruits of his hard work and was proclaimed as The Philippines' Retail King. He manages the SM Prime Holdings Incorporated, that controls all the interest rate in his business. In 2011, Forbes Magazine proclaimed that he was the richest man in the Philippines. He was born in a poor family in Xiamen, China and transferred to the Philippines to start their family business. They started their business in fixing shoes that are defective in Tondo, Manila and in 1958, he manages a small shoe shop in Quiapo, Manila and then became SM Quiapo in November 1972, and was the first SM in the Philippines. 

As what you have read, all this people started from nothing then because of determination, they became the people of what we know today and they emphasized a quote stating that "nothing is impossible".
