Salamat Sir! Mag-iingat ka lagi. ^_^
Ginagawa mo dito? ^-^

Learning Log for Data Networks: Week 10 and 11 (Capsa Free)
For the past 2 weeks, we had learned much information again
about data networks that our professor said that it would take a 1 term to
study but in our case, we would study it for maybe 3 weeks or so. In this minimal
time, we had to gain much knowledge that we could because the finals is coming
and I could feel that our final examination would be hard because I could see a
bright smile in our professors face. Before I would go for the gained
knowledge, I would tell you all about what happen in the late week 9, what
happened is we are about to do the final project of our professor, which tells
about a sniffing software given to each group. Our software was very simple and
the user interface are very unique however, we are using the free version and
the given free interfaces are very few. For me, I would want to know more about
the software and sniff different kinds of module in that software. The free
version really underlines the word free because it restricts us for every move
we take and sometimes limits are action while using the software, but thank God
we had finished the project and also I remember that +20 for the groups who
would present in that week and the succeeding weeks will decrease by 5, and we
had presented early and got a +15. With the use of the YouTube videos tackling
our software, I have learned different kinds of the uses for the module that
are enterprise based and could not be used in the free version and it made me
understand deeper what am I doing with the software. Now let’s go back to the
discussion, we had studied the Chapter 10 that our professor prepared and it
tackles a review for connecting a router to a PC, the introduction to network
layer, and some knowledge about internet data connectivity. I learned about
Static Routing which uses a so called an ISP for a big connection, Dynamic
Routing which contains many protocols that I don’t want to mention it all and
many more. The most enjoyable topic that I can’t really much understand is the
Static Routing wherein the connection is router to router which has the same
time connectivity and same type of connection, we had some exercises about this
using the Cisco packet tracer and thank you to my listening skills, I have
learned this topic just after 2 meetings of our data networks subject. This
kind of connection is really new to me because all I use when using the packet
tracer is just cross and straight connection, and I don’t really this kind of
connection that needs configurations for both routers.

Learning Log for Data Networks: Week 8 and 9 (WireShark)
A week has passed and the ache had been encountered and moved on, but there are still such ache that still remains in my mind like when I think about how I delivered my role in the defense and how I made some choking sensation during that Thursday morning, November 10, 2016. And even after that, we still had to make some revisions with our final paper, but we are able to revised it in time and attained all the expectations of our professor towards our proposed Quality of Service proposition. Also in that day, our professor has taught us about a software that can sniff packets in the internet and this software is called "WireShark". At first I could not really apprehend all the inputs in that software because I really don't know the meaning in all those numbers. In my case, I know what we have to look in that software when sniffing and that the words "syn, syn-ack, syn" in a chronological order and knowing that may help you understand what you are sniffing, but for me this are just words that are yet to be discovered. After a while of trying, asking tons of questions to our professor, sniffing different kinds of websites, making sure that our professor doesn't leave my side for him to help me all the way, and showing me the right algorithm. Finally, I have found the what I was looking for, the "syn, syn-ack, syn" in the monitor and I am happy to say that I have done something right not knowing that this was right all along before our professor had taught me the right way. If I remembered it correctly, the right way of using the software is first, open the WireShark and then click the Ethernet interface because we are using a cabled internet. Then, we run the WireShark to sniff then open the prescribed website for the activity. After that, we open the Command Prompt to ping the ip address of the prescribed website then and there we had learned the ip address. Then, we open again the WireShark and inputed in the search bar "ip. addr == (insert ip address) click enter then we click the Time header then the answer was there, Used snippet tool to crop the image of the "3 way handshake" then put it in the powerpoint presentation, but it is not yet completed and we have to fill in the theoretical part. In the day of November 14, 2016, we redone our Exercise 6 and answer the theoretical part and fill in the remaining errors, then that wraps it all up.

Learning Log for Data Networks: Week 5 and 6 (Defense)
It’s been 4 weeks since I enjoyed using the Packet Tracer
and with this joy, there are problems that is needed to be faced. Midterm is
coming and we all had to study hard especially in our Data Networks and Communications
subject specifically our midterm paper presentation. For me and only my
opinion, our midterm paper proposal is just a misunderstanding or a
miscalculated draft because when we did that draft, we were not able to study
more about our proposal and we didn’t have time to really analyze it more,
piece by piece. I hope that we could really present our midterm proposal
harmoniously and thoroughly without any misconception and misinterpretation.
For the past 2 weeks, I have been thinking about our proposal, what we should
do, when we should be clarifying it, and how will this work for our group. For
the week 5, we only had 1st meeting, but it should have been 2 due
to weather condition, and the first meeting was we did exercise number 5 that
shows connection from department to depart, enabling them to transmit emails
bi-directionally. The second meeting was unexpected and this is the time when
we prolonged our midterm paper and state what we have learned in the internet
about the given topic to us. Since the beginning when we passed our midterm
paper, I did expect any major corrections, but when we received our drafts it’s
just minor corrections and I didn’t expect that kind of feedback because our
group knows that it was not well developed, fetus as we say. In the 1st
meeting of week 6, we were relief and glad because we had received much tips
and guidance from our professor regarding our proposal, this event had brighten
up my day and gave me the will to do the midterm presentation. Also in the 2nd
meeting of week 6, we had learned different kinds of protocols and give me some
push on how should I mold my proposal because I know that our proposal is just
in the clay layer and it should be well molded before the midterm week. Sad to
say that midterm is just days away, but happy to say that there would be a
short vacation for us to relax our mind and remember our loved ones who had
fallen asleep, I know that we could exceed our best and hope that everything
goes well according to our plan.

Learning Log for Data Networks: Week 3 and 4 (Tracing Diagram)
Another 2 weeks had come since I study the anatomy of
network and I began to make some hypothesis towards this subject, but I
couldn’t prove it in a short period of time. For the week 3 of our data
network, we had begun to use an application called Packet Tracer 101 with the
capability to show relations of the different kinds of electronic devices that
could be associated with networks. At first I could not cope up with the
application and it took me a week before I understand what am I doing those
past few days and now I really enjoy using this application because it provides
much information to a specific electronic device about their characteristics
not only in the application, but also the real characteristics of that device
through their physical image representation. The environment of this
application could be easily understand by any kind of person because all you
need is just displayed in there and you’re the one who will be doing the
algorithm, but for all the easiness there is a counter-part and that
counter-part is the manipulation of the router. At first I could not be able to
follow what my professor is doing because I really don’t know what how to code
the right inputs for the router. Then I studied really hard at home to answer
all my problems and by the way I downloaded Packet Tracer at home and this is
free and now I know how to code the router. You should always check if the ip
address, subnet mask, default gateway inputs are similar with the router to be
able to have a connection and this is my secondary problem and this made me
very mad because the devices in that application have no connection, but I
easily apprehended this problem with the help of my seatmate. 2 weeks has
passed and now I know how to use the Packet Tracer but not that good, I’m still
encountering many hindrances that I could not solve and questions that I could
not answer.

Learning Log for Data Networks: Week 1 and 2 (The Beginning)
For my first day, I thought I would fail the subject
because of the “Aura” of our professor had shown to us, but when hours pass by
I felt the sudden joy in my heart knowing that I have a fighting chance to pass
this subject and prove to my parents that I’m doing my best. The time had come
for the introduction of our teacher to end then following the discussions. At
first I don’t have the will to relate to the discussion because I still have a
sembreak fever that are very contagious mostly a day or two after the sembreak,
but I notice that it may be beneficiary to me well since this is my desired course
and this had struck me.Why do we need network? This a tricky question for
someone who had not fully understand the logics of how our technology works,
but this question is just a small part of how wide our intimate knowledge about
computers. There are a lot to be used in networks like instant messaging,
blogs, wikis, etc. and this is just for socialization tools and this helps you
to get-in-touch with people far from your location. Networks could be used for
learning such as moodle for accurate, available, and consistent study resources
for more interrelated knowledge that could be used for the future. There are
much more uses for networks and I do not want to elaborate it all because it
might be boring for the readers that do not apprehend this kind of topic. So I
leave you with this, network is not just network physically, but it is a broad
connectivity of vast range interrelated information that could help the society
in terms of development not only to the agricultural aspects but also in human
entity.
