Learning Log for Data Networks: Week 10 and 11 (Capsa Free)

For the past 2 weeks, we had learned much information again about data networks that our professor said that it would take a 1 term to study but in our case, we would study it for maybe 3 weeks or so. In this minimal time, we had to gain much knowledge that we could because the finals is coming and I could feel that our final examination would be hard because I could see a bright smile in our professors face. Before I would go for the gained knowledge, I would tell you all about what happen in the late week 9, what happened is we are about to do the final project of our professor, which tells about a sniffing software given to each group. Our software was very simple and the user interface are very unique however, we are using the free version and the given free interfaces are very few. For me, I would want to know more about the software and sniff different kinds of module in that software. The free version really underlines the word free because it restricts us for every move we take and sometimes limits are action while using the software, but thank God we had finished the project and also I remember that +20 for the groups who would present in that week and the succeeding weeks will decrease by 5, and we had presented early and got a +15. With the use of the YouTube videos tackling our software, I have learned different kinds of the uses for the module that are enterprise based and could not be used in the free version and it made me understand deeper what am I doing with the software. Now let’s go back to the discussion, we had studied the Chapter 10 that our professor prepared and it tackles a review for connecting a router to a PC, the introduction to network layer, and some knowledge about internet data connectivity. I learned about Static Routing which uses a so called an ISP for a big connection, Dynamic Routing which contains many protocols that I don’t want to mention it all and many more. The most enjoyable topic that I can’t really much understand is the Static Routing wherein the connection is router to router which has the same time connectivity and same type of connection, we had some exercises about this using the Cisco packet tracer and thank you to my listening skills, I have learned this topic just after 2 meetings of our data networks subject. This kind of connection is really new to me because all I use when using the packet tracer is just cross and straight connection, and I don’t really this kind of connection that needs configurations for both routers.

Learning Log for Data Networks: Week 8 and 9 (WireShark)

A week has passed and the ache had been encountered and moved on, but there are still such ache that still remains in my mind like when I think about how I delivered my role in the defense and how I made some choking sensation during that Thursday morning, November 10, 2016. And even after that, we still had to make some revisions with our final paper, but we are able to revised it in time and attained all the expectations of our professor towards our proposed Quality of Service proposition. Also in that day, our professor has taught us about a software that can sniff packets in the internet and this software is called "WireShark". At first I could not really apprehend all the inputs in that software because I really don't know the meaning in all those numbers. In my case, I know what we have to look in that software when sniffing and that the words "syn, syn-ack, syn" in a chronological order and knowing that may help you understand what you are sniffing, but for me this are just words that are yet to be discovered. After a while of trying, asking tons of questions to our professor, sniffing different kinds of websites, making sure that our professor doesn't leave my side for him to help me all the way, and showing me the right algorithm. Finally, I have found the what I was looking for, the "syn, syn-ack, syn" in the monitor and I am happy to say that I have done something right not knowing that this was right all along before our professor had taught me the right way. If I remembered it correctly, the right way of using the software is first, open the WireShark and then click the Ethernet interface because we are using a cabled internet. Then, we run the WireShark to sniff then open the prescribed website for the activity. After that, we open the Command Prompt to ping the ip address of the prescribed website then and there we had learned the ip address. Then, we open again the WireShark and inputed in the search bar "ip. addr == (insert ip address) click enter then we click the Time header then the answer was there, Used snippet tool to crop the image of the "3 way handshake" then put it in the powerpoint presentation, but it is not yet completed and we have to fill in the theoretical part. In the day of  November 14, 2016, we redone our Exercise 6 and answer the theoretical part and fill in the remaining errors, then that wraps it all up.

Learning Log for Data Networks: Week 5 and 6 (Defense)

It’s been 4 weeks since I enjoyed using the Packet Tracer and with this joy, there are problems that is needed to be faced. Midterm is coming and we all had to study hard especially in our Data Networks and Communications subject specifically our midterm paper presentation. For me and only my opinion, our midterm paper proposal is just a misunderstanding or a miscalculated draft because when we did that draft, we were not able to study more about our proposal and we didn’t have time to really analyze it more, piece by piece. I hope that we could really present our midterm proposal harmoniously and thoroughly without any misconception and misinterpretation. For the past 2 weeks, I have been thinking about our proposal, what we should do, when we should be clarifying it, and how will this work for our group. For the week 5, we only had 1st meeting, but it should have been 2 due to weather condition, and the first meeting was we did exercise number 5 that shows connection from department to depart, enabling them to transmit emails bi-directionally. The second meeting was unexpected and this is the time when we prolonged our midterm paper and state what we have learned in the internet about the given topic to us. Since the beginning when we passed our midterm paper, I did expect any major corrections, but when we received our drafts it’s just minor corrections and I didn’t expect that kind of feedback because our group knows that it was not well developed, fetus as we say. In the 1st meeting of week 6, we were relief and glad because we had received much tips and guidance from our professor regarding our proposal, this event had brighten up my day and gave me the will to do the midterm presentation. Also in the 2nd meeting of week 6, we had learned different kinds of protocols and give me some push on how should I mold my proposal because I know that our proposal is just in the clay layer and it should be well molded before the midterm week. Sad to say that midterm is just days away, but happy to say that there would be a short vacation for us to relax our mind and remember our loved ones who had fallen asleep, I know that we could exceed our best and hope that everything goes well according to our plan.

Learning Log for Data Networks: Week 3 and 4 (Tracing Diagram)

Another 2 weeks had come since I study the anatomy of network and I began to make some hypothesis towards this subject, but I couldn’t prove it in a short period of time. For the week 3 of our data network, we had begun to use an application called Packet Tracer 101 with the capability to show relations of the different kinds of electronic devices that could be associated with networks. At first I could not cope up with the application and it took me a week before I understand what am I doing those past few days and now I really enjoy using this application because it provides much information to a specific electronic device about their characteristics not only in the application, but also the real characteristics of that device through their physical image representation. The environment of this application could be easily understand by any kind of person because all you need is just displayed in there and you’re the one who will be doing the algorithm, but for all the easiness there is a counter-part and that counter-part is the manipulation of the router. At first I could not be able to follow what my professor is doing because I really don’t know what how to code the right inputs for the router. Then I studied really hard at home to answer all my problems and by the way I downloaded Packet Tracer at home and this is free and now I know how to code the router. You should always check if the ip address, subnet mask, default gateway inputs are similar with the router to be able to have a connection and this is my secondary problem and this made me very mad because the devices in that application have no connection, but I easily apprehended this problem with the help of my seatmate. 2 weeks has passed and now I know how to use the Packet Tracer but not that good, I’m still encountering many hindrances that I could not solve and questions that I could not answer.

Learning Log for Data Networks: Week 1 and 2 (The Beginning)

For my first day, I thought I would fail the subject because of the “Aura” of our professor had shown to us, but when hours pass by I felt the sudden joy in my heart knowing that I have a fighting chance to pass this subject and prove to my parents that I’m doing my best. The time had come for the introduction of our teacher to end then following the discussions. At first I don’t have the will to relate to the discussion because I still have a sembreak fever that are very contagious mostly a day or two after the sembreak, but I notice that it may be beneficiary to me well since this is my desired course and this had struck me.Why do we need network? This a tricky question for someone who had not fully understand the logics of how our technology works, but this question is just a small part of how wide our intimate knowledge about computers. There are a lot to be used in networks like instant messaging, blogs, wikis, etc. and this is just for socialization tools and this helps you to get-in-touch with people far from your location. Networks could be used for learning such as moodle for accurate, available, and consistent study resources for more interrelated knowledge that could be used for the future. There are much more uses for networks and I do not want to elaborate it all because it might be boring for the readers that do not apprehend this kind of topic. So I leave you with this, network is not just network physically, but it is a broad connectivity of vast range interrelated information that could help the society in terms of development not only to the agricultural aspects but also in human entity.

19 - 15 Random People and 15 Random Comments

Below are the 15 People that I've commented with each of their blog posts.

And this is what I wrote before my comment:
(Commenting to 15 Random People and You are One of the 15. ^__^ )

1. Martha Salamat: 15-Anti-Smoking Campaign
I totally agree to your concern, but there are more drugs to be emphasized with like weeds and coke for example. Never just focus for Marijuana and Nicotine.

2. Nathan Melad: 9-You Were the Chosen One
Well for me, congratulations for your shame and always look for a better tomorrow. Past is past! You can never change it; however, you can make your own future.

3. Kate Calma: 13-An Eventful Week
For Wednesday, Just do what you want to do and disregard all those people who trampled upon your desired action. For Thursday, maybe most of us had made our professor to do his poker face thing and later on laugh because of our Miss Universe-like-answer. For Thursday later on, you could just pray for the safety of those family and maybe you could help them through donation.

4. Fevy Espinas: 14-APC Anti-Smoking Campaign
We all know that smoking is really hazardous and I admire you for NOT BEING A SMOKER; however, your video was quite Rated 18+ and contains graphics that my eyes dislike.

5. Andrey Buzon: 15-Xbox One is better than PS4
Honestly speaking, I don't know any of the two objects that you have been debating on, but surely I know that Xbox One is better than the other because I read that "you can watch TV while playing a game." And it is awesome.

6. John Ryan Pasaoa: 10-T.V. Channel
Me too, If my childhood came back to me, I would watch this channel for a day including my breakfast, lunch, and dinner, but never forget the C.R Break.

7. John Bautista: 12-Anti-Smoking
I totally agree to your perspectives; however, these facts are a given and don't need any clarification because it depends on you if you will smoke or not.

8. Migell Gonzalo: 13- SoCSIT’s All English Term?
Your concern about the English term is quite passionate, but look at the bright side, you've acquire much knowledge since the beginning of the term, maybe for later use and it's all for your own good.

9. Samantha Munar: 12-Bestfriends
Your topic was amusing and yeah! Best friends are the best individuals that could carry all your hardships, all your happiness, and all your excitements without a doubt.

10. Joshua Morales: 12-My Made Up Best Man Speech
There comes a time where everyone has to be married to someone, but do you believe in FOREVER? And awesome made up best man speech, but someone might be angry about this and I will not say his name, but let’s call him by the name "Justin".

11. Tommy Lu: 15-If I Ever got an Award for Being the Best Support
First of all, congratulations for being the team champion in the LoL Tourney from the APC Genesis as the BasuRAMS. Nothing is impossible if you practice everyday and if you believe that you can be the best support.

12. Eugene Delfin: 13-Are You a Smoker or Not?
I agree to your terms and conditions since I am not a smoker: however, you and yourself can prevent others from ever smoking a cigarette just by reprimanding them that smoking is bad for your health.

13. Jason Adriano: 8-Hero
Being a hero doesn't require lots of heavy work, you could become a hero in just a simple way and in your way to be exact.

14. Julius Claveria: 18-Anti-Smoking Campaign
Well-oriented post and I totally agree to your emotion towards smoking because I really felt that you want to diminish smoking that badly.

15. Vince Huliganga: 11-The Shame Week
I saw your performance on that day and don't feel bad if you got a shame because me and our block knows that you did your best and it takes a lot of guts to perform a solo in that very stage.

18 - Anti-Smoking Campaign.

Good day to all! Today I will be talking about smoking, all the things that underlines this title in terms of physical, psychological, and mental effects. Sooner or later you might know something about my blog, and maybe my post for this day can/will stop smokers in ever lightening a single cigarette again. I know that this topic is very common for us and the reason of this commonality is that, we don't really pay attention about the subject for today;therefore, resulting to a major addiction or cigarette and persist in lighting them.

Smoking is bad for your health, this is what I heard in the news, on the web, comment of the non-smokers, my parents, my siblings, my grandparent, my teacher, my neighbor, etc. Funny thing to say that this description is somewhat very basic on the understanding for smoking, but the repetition of this advisory is always disregarded by some smokers who is really addicted to cigarette. Some smokers I think will only regard this advisory if the effects of the nicotine are showing in the smokers respiratory system. The way we learn the background of the cigarette has inspired us not to smoke or maybe some are fascinated with this background and started smoking;however, it only depends on the person's perspective about it. If you don't like cigarette then that's your perspective and if others like smoking then that is the way they see smoking and we should respect their decision. For the smokers, always keep in mind that for our every action has a result and the outcome could be a positive on or negative one depending the in the cause of the action. For the hardworking poor men this is very beneficial because on box of cigarette or maybe one stick costs only a few coins and with this few coins, you could actually buy a box of cigarette doubled to the percentage than your original wage, and the reason is because the numbers/population of the smokers are increasing and the productivity of cigarettes are astonishing. Well, for me this is quite scary.

As I end this, I tell you that I am Sammy Angot and I do not smoke. I really hate smoking because on my observation, you don't have any advantages for this action. For me, smoking is a JOKE and smoking is just BURNING YOUR LIFE LITTLE BY LITTLE, so try not to smoke. Okay!?
